Today also offers the unforgettable opportunity of a hot-air balloon safari—a breathtaking experience that gives you a bird’s-eye view of the endless plains below. Today, your journey continues to the Great Rift Valley and the world-renowned Lake Nakuru National Park. This relatively compact park packs in an incredible variety of wildlife and landscapes. From its dramatic lake shores dotted with flamingos and pelicans to its acacia woodlands and rugged escarpments, Lake Nakuru offers scenery as memorable as the animals themselves.
The park is one of the best places in East Africa to see both black and white rhinos, along with the endangered Rothschild’s giraffes, tree-climbing lions, and abundant plains game. Look out for zebra, buffalo, impala, warthogs, baboons, and more. With luck, you might even catch a glimpse of a hyena on the move.
You’ll also stop at a Masai village for an enriching cultural experience before heading to your new accommodation inside the park.

Expect to encounter zebras, giraffes, impalas, buffalo, rock hyraxes, and possibly even cheetahs and leopards. The park’s towering cliffs, volcanic gorges, and geothermal activity also make it a geologically fascinating destination.
